Lauren Boebert for Congress Responds to Diane Mitsch Bush Not Debating
RIFLE, CO – Lauren Boebert for Congress issued the following statement today regarding the Club 20 and The Chieftain debates.
“A debate can only take place when two or more parties agree to debate. Lauren Boebert is the only 3rd Congressional District candidate who accepted the Club 20 debate and The Chieftain debates,” said Communications Director Laura Carno. “Diane Mitsch Bush notified The Chieftain two months in advance that she would have no availability on her schedule for the week she was invited, and Diane Mitsch Bush flat-out declined to attend the Club 20 debate, as she followed Joe Biden’s lead to hide in her basement during this campaign.”
She added, “Any reporting to the contrary is called Fake News.”
The campaign considered the debates canceled when Diane declined to participate, at which point Lauren filled her busy campaign schedule with other events and meetings throughout the 52,000 square miles of the District. Since Club 20 wasn’t having in- person events, Lauren then offered to record a message to Club 20 members, which they declined. Lauren Boebert has never demanded debate questions in advance.
The campaign also notes the following:
• Lauren Boebert was the only Republican candidate to participate in the La Plata County League of Women Voters forum, participating alongside Democrats Diane Mitsch Bush and James Iacino. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXzE9CI85KI
• The Colorado Water Congress invited Lauren Boebert to answer questions via a recorded message in August, which she submitted.
• Diane Mitsch Bush has had a multi-year lovefest with Bernie Sanders’ socialized healthcare scheme, that Mitsch Bush and a complicit press are doing all they can to suppress during this election cycle.
